It is a new technology that puts extraordinary amount of data, satellite images-current and historical, online for the first time. This wealth of information is ready, to be mined and utilized towards the environmental issues. Google Earth is collaborated with the 25 years old Google Landsat Satellite along with more records. Discovering the location and extent of global forests, observing the change in the forest over time and directing resources for disaster response or water resource mapping are some of the valued information available in Google Earth. This information is obtained by using scientific analysis, to convert mere images into meaningful data. There are several advantages of the Google Earth engine, facilitating scientists to build new applications. Landsat satellite has data collection of over last 25 years. This collection includes archives for most of the developing countries and is equipped to be used, with other datasets including MODIS. By using Google’s computing infrastructure, it takes less time to do analysis. Extraordinary tasks are now possible by conducting analysis across thousands of computers. Tools and features that pre-process the images, to better quality by removing clouds and haze, enables to make the analysis easier. It has created a stage for alliance and homogenization for global data analysis. Deforestation is identified to discharge a humongous amount of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.  The world loses a startling area of 32 million acres, of tropical forest each year. It is also responsible to produce 12 -18% of annual green house gas emissions. Google.Org is likely to be donating 10 million computational hours over the next two years, in order for developing countries, to monitor their forests. This will prove to be an asset in the long run, as the United Nation is expected to execute a proposal called REDD. Over the past couple of years, Google has been working with scientists—Greg Asner of the Carnegie Institution for Science, Carlos Souza of Imazon and Matt Hansen of the Geographic Information Science Center at South Dakota State University, to fully build up and amalgamate this desktop software to work online with the data available in Earth Engine. They are the pioneer of forest supervision in favor of climate science. Google Earth engine is intended to be a vital tool in institutions throughout the globe. It is meant to help them manage forests more efficiently.  Google Earth hopes that more scientists will use new Earth Engine API to incorporate their applications online. This will help a unanimous battle against deforestation, disease mitigation, disaster response, water resource, water resource mapping and other beneficial uses. It is a highly creditable program towards the development and study of global climate. Several environmental studies are being conducted, to identify and monitor changes, in the earth’s environment. This calls for a global alliance. The extent of this global merger demands for enormous resources, wherein Google’s endeavor must be acknowledged.
